The US planned cyber attacks on election day, the SVR said

MOSCOW, March 11 The US is planning cyber attacks on system of remote electronic voting in the presidential elections in Russia in order to complicate the counting of votes, the press bureau of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) of Russia reported.

"With the participation of leading American IT specialists, it is planned to carry out cyber attacks on the remote electronic voting system voting,» the intelligence service clarified.

By such actions, the States want to make it impossible to count the votes of a significant share of Russian voters, the SVR explained.

The Federation Council has scheduled presidential elections for March 17, 2024. Voting will last three days: March 15, 16 and 17.
Four candidates registered by the Central Election Commission are vying for the post of head of state: Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov and Vladimir Putin.
