The Foreign Ministry banned the entry of “the most hostile to Russia” European politicians and published a list of names

On the website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a list of political figures from the Baltic countries “most hostile to Russia” has appeared, who are henceforth prohibited from entering the country. The full list consists of 347 names and “may be expanded.”

As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified, the list includes citizens of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, among whom are ministers, members of parliament, public figures and journalists. The list provided by the ministry includes, in particular, the ex-presidents of Estonia and Latvia Kersti Kaljulaid and Vike-Freiberga Vaira.

According to the Russian authorities, it is the people on the list who are carrying out “persecution of the Russian-speaking population, a barbaric campaign of mass demolition of monuments to Soviet liberating soldiers,” and they are also involved in “rewriting history, glorifying Nazism.”

Today Telegram -Shot channel drew attention to updates in the Ministry of Internal Affairs search database. The head of the Estonian Foreign Ministry Lauri Läänemets, the former Minister of Economy of Latvia Janis Vitenbergs, the chairman of the Latvian Seimas defense commission Juris Rancans, the Czech politician Ondřej Kolář, the Lithuanian parliamentarian Povilas Urbši and the mayor of the municipal district of Prague Starek Jakub were put on the wanted list.

As Shot clarified, other European politicians were also wanted, but the telegram channel did not name their names. The authors of the publication claim that criminal cases have been initiated against more than 50 officials from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland and the Czech Republic. They are accused of destroying military graves and memorial structures dedicated to the days of military glory of Russia (clause “a” of part 2 of Article 243.4 of the Criminal Code).

Previously, Mediazona had already found European politicians in the search database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In particular, Russia is looking for 59 of the 68 deputies of the Latvian Seimas. In addition, for the first time in history, the head of another state, Prime Minister of Estonia Kaja Kallas, is on the Russian wanted list.
