Shot: the crew of the crashed Il-76 managed to report a fire and engine destruction
Shot, citing a source in the investigation, writes that investigators already know the details of the latest radio communications of the Il-76 crew, which crashed after takeoff in Ivanovo region.
According to the source, the commander’s last words were a report about the fire of the fourth engine and blades flying out of it. Previously, it was precisely because of damage to the systems from falling off parts that the plane could not reach the airfield — in a different situation, the board would have been able to continue flying on three serviceable engines.
The Shot publication says that the main version of what happened is still considered a technical malfunction.
The channel also writes that the captain of the aircraft on that flight was a 53-year-old native of Tver, who graduated from the Suvorov Military School and the Tambov Higher Military Aviation School, and in recent years lived in Orenburg with his wife and two children. The second pilot was also from Orenburg.
