MOSCOW, March 13 One of the world's largest confectionery manufacturers, Mondelez International, has decided to refuse to supply its products, including Milka and Alpen Gold chocolate, to Lenta chain stores from — for purchase prices, the retailer’s press service said.
«As a result of negotiations, our partners decided to refuse supplies at the proposed purchase prices, which would be beneficial to our customers,» they said, answering a question about the disappearance of Mondelez sweets from the assortment.
At the same time, as the correspondent was convinced, the retailer's website still offers Alpen Gold, Milka, Oreo and Dirol products, but the range is limited. For example, most options are already in the “product out of stock” status.
The press service also confirmed to the agency that some stores still have remnants of such products.
Before this, in June, the press service of the Russian division of Mondelez informed the agency that the company continues to operate in Russia and is aimed at greater localization of business processes. They emphasized that work continues taking into account the previously announced restrictions — the suspension of investments in new projects and advertising.
Mondelez International is one of the world's largest manufacturers of confectionery and food products, the company's headquarters is located in Illinois (USA). The representative office in the Russian Federation was opened in 1994, among the brands are Alpen Gold, Milka chocolate, Oreo cookies, and Dirol chewing gum. In early March, the company announced that it had suspended advertising and investment activities in Russia due to the situation in Ukraine.
