Several collectors of signatures for Boris Nadezhdin were searched in the Stavropol Territory this week, regional collection coordinator Alexander Korovainy told the Caucasian Knot.
Another signature collector anonymously told the publication that on March 12, security forces came to two residents of Essentuki and another resident of Mikhailovsk. The latter’s “equipment was confiscated.”
On March 13, searches were carried out at one collector in one of the cities of Caucasian Mineralnye Vody, Korovayny noted. “All searches were carried out in gross violations of the law, although no violence was used, no one was forced to face the floor. It seemed like they were trying to scare people into refusing to observe the elections,” he said.
Under what pretext searches were carried out, the interlocutors of the “Caucasian Knot” did not specify.
Yesterday, March 13, police in Vladivostok detained the head of the regional headquarters of Nadezhdin, Igor Krasnov, and three other volunteers on the FEFU campus. Krasnov was arrested for six days for using a rainbow flag in a chat with 11 people. Volunteer administrative protocol meetings will be held today.
