MOSCOW, March 13 The Tagansky Court of Moscow fined the Viber messenger 800 thousand rubles for failure to delete prohibited content, the court’s press service reported.
«Viber Media was found guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, and was sentenced to an administrative fine in the amount of 800 thousand rubles,» the agency's interlocutor said.

Viber was already fined one million rubles under a similar article of the Code of Administrative Offenses on June 20 last year. Then we were talking about content containing fake news about a special operation.

During that meeting, a representative of Viber indicated that the company had removed information from the search in the Russian Federation; moreover, it was in Ukrainian and was not intended for Russian users. The lawyer then asked not to hold the messenger accountable, since Viber “did everything possible, including technically, to comply with the requirements of the Russian authorities.”
For failure by a legal entity to delete information prohibited in the Russian Federation, liability is provided in the form of a fine in the amount of 800 thousand to 4 million rubles.
