MOSCOW, March 14 Head coach of the Russian national handball team Velimir Petkovic will leave his post in the summer, reports Stuttgarter Zeitung.
According to the source, the 67-year-old specialist will return to Germany. Petkovic previously worked in German handball for about 20 years and holds citizenship of that country.
Petkovic has been leading the Russian men's national team since 2020. At the end of February 2022, the International Handball Federation (IHF) suspended Russian teams from international competitions for an indefinite period due to the situation in Ukraine.
