According to preliminary data, mass production of the model of the Bavarian brand will start in August of this year.
BMW has begun the release of X3 (factory index — E83) back in 2003, the second generation model (F25) appeared in 2010, and the current “third” crossover (G01) debuted in 2017, it underwent an update in 2021. At the same time, back in 2020, production of an all-electric version of the SUV began, which received its own name — BMW iX3 (in-house index — G08). Now the model is preparing for the next generation change.

Previously, photo spies have repeatedly caught camouflaged prototypes of a future new product during road tests. Their photographs formed the basis for renderings created by the designer Kolesa.ru, demonstrating the potential appearance of the fourth generation BMW X3: the images were published last fall.
Official photos of the future crossover, as well as technical details, will appear later. So far, unofficial data about the next generation BMW X3, which has been assigned the index G45, has appeared on the Internet. According to forum user Bimmerpost, the “fourth” SUV will be larger than its predecessor. According to rumors, its length will be 4755 mm, width – 1920 mm, and height – 1660 mm; the distance between the axles will probably be 2865 mm. The current version is 40 mm shorter, 30 mm narrower, and its wheelbase is only 1 mm shorter.
It is reported that the new product will have a trunk volume of 570 liters, and with the second row seats folded, the volume of cargo space increases to 1,700 liters. For comparison, for the current crossover these figures are 550 and 1600 liters, respectively.
According to a post on the forum, the new product will have the same petrol, diesel versions, as well as options with hybrid power plants. It is expected that the list will include versions 20d xDrive, 20 xDrive, 30e xDrive and M50 xDrive; most likely, the equipment will be left unchanged. In addition, the line may also include the top version of the BMW X3 M. It is possible that the all-electric iX3 will switch to the Neue Klasse platform during the generation change.

It is assumed that serial production of the fourth generation BMW X3 will start in August of this year, which means the premiere of the new product will take place over the coming months. According to user Bimmerpost, the completion of production of the next X3 is scheduled for the fall of 2033.
At the beginning of this year it became known that the BMW X3 crossover was dragged into dieselgate: however, we are talking about cars which were produced between 2010 and 2014 and were equipped with 2.0 liter diesel engines. As we previously reported, last summer Deutsche Umwelt Hilfe reported to German authorities that it had discovered an “illegal device” that allowed some BMW cars to reduce their actual emissions during tests: based on this report, an investigation was launched.
