In the Saratov region, law enforcement officers detained a citizen convicted of beating a man to death. According to the local publication 164.ru, the court sentenced the man 10 years ago, but he was hiding from the investigation and only now will go to prison.
According to the investigation and the court, in 2012, Alexey Gorulenko and his friends went in search of gold in the taiga in Yakutia and the Amur region. During the hike, one participant went missing, and the second died from beatings from Gorulenko. It was established that the deceased was eventually eaten by Gorulenko and his surviving friend. In 2014, the Neryungri court sentenced Gorulenko to 3 years of suspended imprisonment, finding him guilty of causing grievous bodily harm. Later, the Supreme Court of Yakutia revised the sentence and sentenced him to 12 years in a maximum security colony. The person involved in the criminal case did not appear at the trial and was put on the wanted list.
It is reported that the convict was detained on March 11 in the Saratov village of Eremeevka, where he came to visit a relative. According to the Federal Penitentiary Service, in previous years the citizen was hiding in abandoned houses in different regions of Russia. At the moment, the detainee has been sent to a pre-trial detention center, and then he will be transferred to a colony.
