VOLGOGRAD, March 15 Resident of Volzhskoe, Volgograd region at the polling station she poured green stuff into the ballot box, but they remained suitable for counting votes, the press service of the regional election commission reported.
«A woman who came to polling station No. 1131 in Volzhsky tried to spoil the ballots with brilliant green. However, the actions were stopped. All ballots can be used when counting votes, since the marks with the will of voters are distinguishable and do not raise doubts,» they reported at the election commission.
According to the agency's interlocutor, a new voting box is now being used at the polling station, and the woman was detained by the police.
On Friday at 8.00, 1,408 polling stations opened in the Volgograd region.
The Federation Council has scheduled presidential elections for March 17, 2024. Voting will last three days: March 15, 16 and 17. Four candidates registered by the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation are vying for the post of head of state: Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov and Vladimir Putin.
