In the hierarchy of the Czech brand, the new product presented today will take the place of an entry-level electric car. It is known that its range on one charge will exceed 400 km.
The Skoda brand, part of the Vokswagen group, announced a new global crossover last week, and a couple of days ago the company showed a sketch of the interior of this new product. Now the company has completely declassified the SUV (still in concept status) and revealed its name: the model was given the name Epiq, which “fits” into the current “green” family: the capital “E” indicates that it belongs to electric cars, and the last “q” refers to the segment SUV. The name is a reference to the ancient Greek word epos (i.e. epic).

The serial version will debut before the end of this year; production of the new product will be established at the concern's plant located in Pamplona (Spain). It is known that in the hierarchy of the brand, the presented SUV will take the place of an entry-level electric car. The model, whose closest relatives will be the Volkswagen ID.2 and Cupra Raval, will go on sale in the European market next year.
The electric car shown today visually resembles the “younger brother” of the Skoda Vision 7S concept, which was presented back in 2022. Epiq received a narrow-shaped head optics consisting of thin LED strips and strokes, a plug in the shape of a proprietary radiator grille, as well as large “slots” integrated into the lower part of the front bumper. A similar element can be seen at the bottom of the stern, and the “T-shaped” lights also consist of stripes.
The profile is decorated with original three-spoke alloy wheels; the pre-production concept received traditional exterior mirrors and door handles, wide rear pillars, roof rails, as well as a plastic body kit around the perimeter of the body, including “squared” linings on the wheel arches. It is still unknown which design elements will make it to the production version.

The length of the Skoda Epiq subcompact crossover is 4.1 meters (about the same as the Fabia hatchback – 4108 mm). The interior is designed for five passengers, and the luggage compartment volume is 490 liters. In front of the driver there is a steering wheel slightly truncated at the bottom, a small display that acts as a virtual “tidy”, and a horizontally oriented touch screen is located in the center of the front panel. Below is a panel with physical buttons — a control unit for climate control and other functions of the electric car. In the central tunnel there is a niche for wireless charging of smartphones. It is known that the new product will be equipped with the usual Skoda compartments for storing small items Simply Clever.
About » There is practically no information about the filling of the electric car; the company only said that the range on one charge of the Skoda Epiq will exceed 400 km. Most likely, the new product will share electric motors and traction batteries with its closest relatives – Volkswagen ID.2 and Cupra Raval, the production versions of which have also not yet been presented.
The company said that the starting price tag for an entry-level all-electric SUV on the European market will be about 25 thousand euros (equivalent to approximately 2.52 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
Recall that at the end of last month Skoda announced the appearance of another inexpensive small crossover, although India will be its main market.
