British company Ineos Automotive has expanded its Grenadier off-road family with a Chassis Cab version with an open chassis and a four-door cab. Price — from 71,840 euros.

A “workhorse” for 71,840 euros is expensive, the new Toyota Hilux Champ in the same style will cost several times cheaper, but it has not yet reached Europe, but Ineos customers have literally begged for a version of the Grenadier with an open chassis on which you can build various add-ons — from a simple flatbed to a camper. Basically, such versions are in demand by various rescue and emergency services, which need a reliable, durable, passable, and at the same time quite powerful and fast car. Grenadier fully meets these requirements; it has few analogues on the market.

Recall that the original frame 5-door The Grenadier SUV entered the market in 2022, last year the Quartermaster pickup version debuted and went into production, and the Quartermaster Chassis Cab is a derivative of the pickup truck.

All the virtues of the Grenadier in the Quartermaster Chassis Cab version are preserved, no simplification or cost reduction has occurred, only the powerful ladder-type frame is on display here, unlike the pickup truck. At the rear end of the frame there are holes for attaching a towbar; above it there is a narrow plastic bumper and round lights — the same as other versions of the model.

The dimensions of the Quartermaster Chassis Cab without add-ons are the same as a regular pickup truck: length — 5440 mm, width — 1943 mm, height — 2019 mm, wheelbase — 3227 mm. Ground clearance — 264 mm, fording depth — 800 mm, approach angle — 35.5 degrees, departure angle — 22.6 degrees, ramp angle — 26.2 degrees.

3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engines for all versions of the Grenadier are supplied by BMW, the maximum output of the diesel is 249 hp. and 550 Nm, gasoline — 286 hp. and 450 Nm. The transmission is only an 8-speed hydromechanical “automatic” ZF. Standard equipment includes differential all-wheel drive with center lock and a reduction gear in the transfer case (2.5:1). Cross-axle differential locks are available at extra cost. Suspension — spring, dependent, with solid Carraro axles front and rear, disc brakes are supplied by Brembo.

The curb weight of the petrol Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster Chassis Cab is 2643 kg, the diesel – 2718 kg. The permissible gross weight of both versions is 3550 kg. The permissible dynamic load on the cabin roof is 120 kg, static — 375 kg. The permissible weight of the towed trailer is 3500 kg.

The “tadpole” will be produced in the same place as all other versions of the Grenadier — at Ineos’ own plant in Ambach, France, which previously belonged to Mercedes-Benz. In Germany, the Grenadier Quartermaster Chassis Cab costs from 71,840 euros, while for a regular pickup you need to pay at least 72,640 euros. The Grenadier Utility Wagon with a closed 5-door body, blank side walls of the trunk and a two-seater saloon costs from 71,140 euros, a full-fledged 5-seater fully glazed SUV — from 81,890 euros.

In February, Ineos Automotive announced a mid-size electric SUV Fusilier with a monocoque body on its own platform, it is planned to go into production in 2027 year.
