Photo spies have repeatedly caught the new Kia golf-class four-door packaged in thick camouflage. Now the company has distributed the first official images: it has been announced that the model will go on sale under the symbol K4. By the way, this name previously belonged to a sedan created specifically for the Chinese market, but that car was discontinued long ago.
The new K4 will be global, it will replace the model, which in Korea is called K3, in North America is called Forte, and in other markets, including Russia, is known as Cerato. Well, let us remind you that the current generation Kia K3/Forte/Cerato has been in service since 2018, restyling was carried out in 2021. In the homeland of the brand and in Australia, along with the four-door, a hatchback is also presented, but the upcoming model is not expected to have a five-door version.

The fresh Kia K4 sedan will get a catchy appearance. We are already, in principle, accustomed to fanged optics; many of the latest models of the brand have similar lighting technology, including the restyled Picanto hatchback, Sorento crossover and Carnival minivan. At the same time, the four-door will have its own features. Thus, the rear door handles will not be placed in the usual place, but on top, like some hatches and SUVs of other brands. The Kia K4 will also feature a fastback body with unusual windows in the rear roof pillars.

Dimensions have not yet been announced. The length of the outgoing Kia Cerato sedan (in Korean specification) is 4645 mm, width – 1800 mm, height – 1440 mm, wheelbase – 2700 mm.
The interior of the Kia K4 was not shown. Most likely, a curved scoreboard will be installed inside. And of course, the list of equipment will include all modern safety and driver assistance systems.

There is no data on technology yet either. In Korea, for example, the previous K3/Cerato sedan is available with a 1.6 naturally aspirated petrol engine, while the hatchback has a 1.6 T-GDI turbo-four. In some markets, the range also includes a two-liter naturally aspirated engine.
The Kia K4 will premiere online on March 21, and the public display will take place at the New York Auto Show, which opens a few days later. Apparently, the American market will be one of the first for the new model.
