
VOLGOGRAD, March 15 A woman in Volgograd tried to smuggle a smoke bomb into a polling station, and in the Novonikolaevsky district a Molotov cocktail was confiscated from a woman, the region’s election commission told reporters.
According to the commission, in the Voroshilovsky district of Volgograd and the Novonikolaevsky district of the region, two women tried to disrupt the voting process.
“In the first case, a smoke bomb was confiscated from a resident, in the second, a Molotov cocktail was quickly neutralized. Both women were detained by law enforcement officers,” the election commission reported.
According to him, the work of the sites did not stop.
According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Volgograd Region, a 76-year-old pensioner was detained in Volgograd; she managed to set fire to a saber in a voting booth. According to the police, in the Novonikolaevsky district, a 32-year-old local resident threw a Molotov cocktail on the floor of a polling station. Both were taken to police stations.
It was previously reported that a resident of Volzhsky poured brilliant green into the ballot box.
The Federation Council has scheduled presidential elections for March 17, 2024. Voting will last three days: March 15, 16 and 17. Four candidates registered by the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation are vying for the post of head of state: Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov and Vladimir Putin.
