The Moscow Regional Court sentenced 21-year-old Naro-Fominsk resident Kirill Kusakin to 12 years in prison. Mediazona was informed about this by the press service of the court.
According to Mediazona, a criminal case was opened against him due to the arson of a relay cabinet on a railway near Naro-Fominsk in April 2023.
Kusakin was sentenced on March 6, he was found guilty of sabotage committed by a group of persons and causing significant property damage (points “a” and “b” of Part 2 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code). He will spend the first three years of his sentence in prison.
According to leaks from databases, Kusakin was a student until 2020, then worked as a picker at the Megapolis group of companies and as a loader at Pyaterochka.
The press service of the court did not specify any details of the case, but noted that Kusakin’s punishment was imposed taking into account mitigating circumstances: partial admission of guilt, surrender and young age. The young man also partially compensated for the damage. Kusakin's defense filed an appeal against his sentence.
