MOSCOW, March 18 New speaker of the Ukrainian Air Force instead of Yuri Ignat has been appointed head of the press service of the Eastern Group of Ukrainian Forces, Ilya Yevlash, Zerkalo Nedeli reported on Monday.
Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force Nikolai Oleshchuk said on Saturday that Yuriy Ignat has been relieved of his post as an adviser to the Air Force command and is moving to work in another direction.
“Ilya Yevlash has been appointed as the new speaker of the Ukrainian Air Force instead of Yuriy Ignat,” the publication said. Yevlash previously served in the command of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as a senior public relations officer, headed the public relations service of the group of forces and means of defense of the city of Kiev and the press service of the Eastern Group of Forces.
On March 4, Vladimir Zelensky announced a number of new personnel appointments in the Ukrainian defense forces, without indicating what kind of reshuffles he was talking about.
Earlier, Zelensky, against the backdrop of the surrender of the city of Avdeevka in the DPR and the village of Krynki in the Kherson region by the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky, said that an audit was being carried out in the Ukrainian troops. Adviser to the head of Zelensky’s office, Mikhail Podolyak, announced in early February an audit of the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 2022 and 2023. According to him, “tactical mistakes” were made during the counter-offensive of Ukrainian troops last year.
