MOSCOW, March 18 Beeline has developed a new software package “Intelligent Planner” (18+), which has significantly accelerated the work on preparing plans for the development of the cellular network, reports the press service of the mobile operator.
The complex automatically identifies problem areas on the network — both in terms of capacity and coverage — and develops targeted development plans. The «intelligent scheduler» is integrated into all internal databases of the company, which allows you to perform calculations based on market traffic forecasts, evaluate the effect of affiliate programs, take into account current and future base stations (BS) in the calculations, and also select the type of connection of new BS to the transport the network, while calculating the length of the fiber-optic communication line, selecting the reciprocal parts of the radio relay lines and assigning satellite channels for BS in the most remote locations, is specified in the message.
Thanks to artificial intelligence, the calculation complex constantly self-learns — it takes into account the update of subscriber devices, spectrum updates, load redistribution between base stations, changes in traffic flows and population migration to new neighborhoods. The program analyzes more than 10 million parameters when compiling models to predict data transfer speeds in a specific location. Based on the results obtained, technical solutions for network expansion are automatically selected.
“There are no ready-made solutions on the market today that can combine calculations of network capacity and coverage with automatic preparation of business cases. But in the Intelligent Planner we were able to implement this complex algorithm: at the press of one button, a complete analysis of the coverage of the entire territory of the Russian Federation is performed, taking into account the most current 3D maps of the area, areas where coverage and LTE (Long-Term Evolution long-term development) coverage and service are insufficient, and a project is calculated to “close blind spots.” Thanks to the introduction of the “Intelligent Scheduler” into the workflow, we have implemented a record refarming program throughout country, which, in turn, gave +25% to the speed of mobile Internet for our clients,” noted Olga Ramina, director of radio access network development at VimpelCom PJSC, as quoted by the press service.
Another important feature The new software package is the ability to plan a “subscriber-facing” network. The «Intelligent Planner» uses anonymized data collection from subscribers' mobile terminals, on the basis of which it builds «heat maps» to accurately determine the location of new BS. In addition, the complex works with equipment from all vendors, including being compatible with domestic solutions and working with raster maps. This allows you to flexibly customize the system for different criteria, the press service concluded.
