The Industrial District Court of Izhevsk sent to pre-trial detention a member of the precinct election commission No. 221 from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Nadezhda Pinegina, who tried to pour brilliant green into the electronic ballot box. Representatives of the court reported this.
The incident with brilliant green occurred on the evening of March 15, before the closure of the site. The 43-year-old woman was immediately grabbed by other election commission employees and a police officer.

A case was opened against Pinegina and other people who poured paint into ballot boxes or started fires under the article on obstruction of the work of election commissions, organized by a group persons (clause “c” of Part 2 of Article 141 of the Criminal Code). The maximum punishment for it is 5 years in prison.
When “obstruction” is committed by one person, it does not imply imprisonment — only a fine and forced or compulsory labor (Part 1 of Article 141 of the Criminal Code). In press releases about such cases, security forces do not describe who the “organized group” consisted of, which made it possible to initiate a case under a more stringent article. Regional publications attributed several cases to the work of telephone scammers.
