The court prohibited Gasunie from conducting a dispute with Gazprom Export outside Russia

St. PETERSBURG, March 16. The Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region determined to recover about 275 million euros from Gasunie Transport Services (the operator of the Dutch gas transmission system, a subsidiary of the parent Gasunie) in case of violation of its ban on continuing the dispute with Gazprom Export in the Dutch court, it follows from case materials.
The Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg on Friday upheld the claim of Gazprom Export to prohibit Gasunie Transport Services from initiating and continuing a dispute in the District Court of the Northern Netherlands. The court also awarded Gazprom Export a sum of money in case of failure to comply with the decision by Gasunie Transport Services.

«If the company… Gasunie Transport Services… fails to comply with the ruling of the Arbitration Court of the city of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region on the prohibition to continue proceedings in the District Court of the Northern Netherlands… between the company… Gasunie Transport Services… and the company with limited liability company «Gazprom Export» … awarded in favor of the limited liability company «Gazprom Export» … 275,422,078 euros 88 euro cents in rubles at the rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation on the date of payment, subject to recovery from the company Gasunie Transport Services», – says the court’s ruling, the operative part of which was published on Saturday.
The day before, Gasunie spokeswoman Marie-Lou Gregoire said that the company does not comment on the decision of the St. Petersburg Arbitration Court, which prohibited its subsidiary from continuing the dispute with Gazprom Export abroad.
International sanctions have affected the decline in gas exports from Russia to Europe. Gazprom, due to non-payment of gas under the new scheme in rubles, stopped supplies to a number of European companies, including the Dutch GasTerra.
