WARSAW, March 18 The European Union is preparing to introduce high tariffs on Russian food products, said Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Michal Kolodziejczak on the radio station RMF FM.
“»From unofficial sources, I know that it is probably difficult to talk about the unanimity in the entire European Union that is necessary to impose an embargo, but there is a very high probability, from what I know unofficially, that Russian food products may face imposing very high customs duties, which will successfully limit its entry into the European Union,» Kolodziejczak said.
He clarified that he obtained this information “from unofficial sources after conversations with representatives of the European Parliament.”
The Russian Federation has repeatedly stated that the country will cope with the sanctions pressure that the West began to exert on Russia several years ago and continues to intensify. Moscow noted that the West lacks the courage to admit the failure of sanctions against the Russian Federation. In Western countries themselves, opinions have been repeatedly voiced that anti-Russian sanctions are ineffective. Russian President Vladimir Putin previously stated that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy of the West, and sanctions have dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy. According to him, the main goal of the West is to worsen the lives of millions of people.
