ANKARA, March 19 There is no progress in solving problems with bank transfers from Russia to Turkey yet, a source in one of the country’s state banks said.
The problem with payment transfers from Russia to Turkey largely persists, intensive work continues to resolve it, Russian Ambassador to Turkey Alexey Erkhov said earlier. The Turkish side is officially aware of the existing problems in payment transfers with Russia, considers the situation not catastrophic, the relevant departments of the two countries are working to resolve the situation, a source in the presidential administration said. At the same time, a source in the banking sector reported on February 14 that the United States, based on sanctions policy, is warning a number of private banks in Turkey about the need to carefully check payment transfers with Russia, reaching a threatening tone.

We cannot take any drastic steps, since we ourselves are in the financial system (American — ed.) and we ourselves may be subject to sanctions. It is difficult to talk about any time frame for solving the problem, since it is not known when it will find a solution,» said the agency's interlocutor.
