The Tobolsk City Court of the Tyumen Region placed under house arrest a 22-year-old student who exploded a firecracker at a polling station. This was reported by representatives of the court.
The explosion of the Charge 12 firecracker occurred on the first day of three-day voting, March 15, in the foyer of the Litsman gymnasium, where the polling station was located. The student himself received a wound to his left hand and an abrasion on his forehead; no one else was injured.
The student’s name is Donierzhon Okhunov, he studies at Tobolsk Medical College in the direction of “General Medicine”. The Tajik Embassy noted that the young man was born in Tajikistan and received Russian citizenship. Okhunov played for his college football team and went to schools to teach schoolchildren the basics of first aid.
A case was opened against the student for hooliganism with the use of weapons (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code) — the article carries a sentence of up to seven years in prison.
“During the preliminary investigation, the student said that the reason for his actions was a loan that he took out under the influence of scammers who stole about 2 million rubles from him,” they say in court.
