KALININGRAD, March 19The Zelenogradsky District Court of the Kaliningrad Region chose a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions and restrictions for a pensioner who filled the ballots with green in the presidential elections of the Russian Federation, the press service of the regional court reports.
According to the investigation, on the afternoon of March 16, 2024, during the presidential elections in the Russian Federation, A. arrived at a polling station located in the city of Zelenogradsk, approached the ballot box and poured green coloring liquid into it, ruining those in the ballot box ballots of citizens who voted, on March 17, A. was detained on suspicion of committing this crime.
“By the resolution of the Zelenograd District Court, a preventive measure was chosen in relation to suspect A. in the form of a ban on certain actions and restrictions, namely: sending and receiving postal and telegraphic items; using communication tools on the Internet information and telecommunications network; communicating with 46-year-old P ., since he did not allow police officers into the local area where the suspect was located, and thereby prevented her arrest,” the report says.
A criminal case has been initiated against 64-year-old A. on the grounds of a crime under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Article 141 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (obstruction of the exercise of electoral rights or the work of election commissions).
The head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, previously stated that those detained for damaging ballot boxes at polling stations admitted that they did it for money from abroad and did not know about criminal liability. She said that one of the detainees was promised 100 thousand rubles for this. According to Pamfilova, Russia will cope with provocations in the presidential elections that are being prepared from abroad.
