YEKATERINBURG, March 20. The failure of the main hydraulic system forced the Mi-8 helicopter to land at a site 55 kilometers from Yamburg airport (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug), reports the press service of the Ural Transport Prosecutor's Office.
Earlier, the Central Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that in Yamal on Wednesday at about 9.18 Moscow time, a Mi-8 helicopter, performing a commercial flight on the route Bovanenkovo - Cape Kamenny, safely made an emergency landing at a site located 50 kilometers from Yamburg airport. There were no injuries; a reserve aircraft was sent to the scene, the department noted. The check has begun.
“»The crew of the Mi-8 RA-25421 aircraft of UTair Helicopter Services airlines, performing commercial flight UTH-9969… reported a failure of the main hydraulic system, after which they made an emergency landing at a site located at a distance of 55, 5 kilometers from Yamburg airport,” the prosecutor’s office said.
They added that there were three crew members and nine passengers on board, no one was injured.
