MOSCOW, March 19 Contacts between domestic scientists and foreign colleagues have been preserved; they have an interest in working at mega-scientific facilities in Russia, Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, said in an interview.
“Now, I would say, there is a kind of turning point. We know that, especially at the informal level, all contacts between scientists have largely been preserved. The world that existed before 2022, built on different principles, according to different patterns, «It has undergone significant changes over these two years. And the researchers have already adapted to life in the new world,» Falkov said.
«Any installations of the «megascience» class are, first of all, fundamental science. What our country has always been strong at. Plus this is a great opportunity build various new partnerships, and they are gradually taking shape. There is interest in working with our scientists in the world,» the minister added.
According to Falkov, a new reality is gradually being built in world science.
«I think that a little more, and it will be formed one way or another. And the foundations we are creating in the advanced scientific infrastructure will work. Mega-installations strengthen the authority of Russia and give us the opportunity to maintain leadership in a number of areas of research for many decades to come,» — he noted.
