BRATISLAVA, March 20 Chairman of the Slovak Parliament Peter Pellegrini has the greatest chance of winning the presidential elections of the republic, the first round of which will take place on Saturday, follows from the data of the last poll before two days of silence by the Ipsos agency.
«The presidential election in March (at the time of the survey — ed.) would have been won by the Chairman of Parliament Pellegrini, having received (in the second round — ed.) 54.5% of the votes. Former Foreign Minister Ivan Korczok would have been in second place with 45.5% of the votes,” follows from a survey commissioned by Dennik N.
In the first round, Pellegrini would have received the support of 37.5% of voters, Korczok — 36.3%.
The survey was conducted from March 16 to 19, 1009 respondents took part in it.
The first round of the presidential elections in Slovakia will take place on March 23. A second round, if necessary, is scheduled for April 6. 10 candidates will compete for the presidency.
Data from sociological studies that were conducted earlier also indicated that the head of parliament Pellegrini has the greatest chance of winning the presidential elections in Slovakia, and his main rival is the ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia Korcok.
The current head of Slovakia, Zuzana Caputova, previously stated that she would not seek re-election for a second term. The president in Slovakia is elected for five years, the term of office of the first female president in the country's history expires on June 15, 2024.
