Matviychuk: those who carried out the terrorist attack in Crocus could have converted a blank AK-47 into a combat one

The terrorists who carried out the attack at Crocus City Hall converted a cold AK-47 into a combat one. This opinion was expressed by military expert Anatoly Matviychuk in an interview with NEWS.RU.
The analyst noted that the Saiga carbine, which was found at the scene of the tragedy, is available to all adult Russians who have passed a medical examination.
According to the expert, Saiga is not such a rare weapon. He suggested that it could be purchased legally.
The AK-47 used to be made into a emasculated weapon by drilling holes in the body so that it would not fire automatically; in the 90s it was sold as a hunting rifle. It can be converted back into a combat machine gun with certain skills, Matviychuk explained.
Earlier, one of the men who was caught in the Crocus City Hall during the terrorist attack told how he managed to neutralize one of the militants — and thus this would save dozens of people from death.
According to him, three people walked along the mezzanine, and the fourth came out from behind the descent and shot at people in cold blood. The man saw wild horror in his wife’s eyes and realized that he had to do something.
