The Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation proposes to consolidate the priority of fuel transportation by rail compared to other cargo, the Kommersant newspaper wrote earlier on Friday, citing sources. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation supported the consolidation of the priority of fuel transportation, the ministry reported.
In turn, the Ministry of Energy shared with the agency that, together with oil workers and Russian Railways, they are developing monthly fuel transportation schedules in order to provide regional oil depots with petroleum products during periods of high demand. Russian Railways is taking all necessary actions to ensure stable transportation of fuel, as the company stated.
Plans for the purchase and sale of petroleum products were also requested from fuel traders, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation reported on Thursday. Prior to this, the FAS, raising the problem of the speed of fuel supplies, suggested that market participants increase the transportation of petroleum products within the country via pipelines. Transneft supported this proposal.
