Putin said the importance of every vote in the elections

MOSCOW, March 21 Every voice of Russians on election of the head of state mattered, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an address to citizens after the Central Election Commission summed up the results.
“Once again, I thank everyone who took part in the vote, regardless of who you gave your vote to. The main thing is that you proved «that you respect your civic duty, value freedom of choice and your voice. And each of your votes, I repeat, was of great importance,» the newly elected leader of the country noted.
The elections were held for three days — from March 15 to 17.

At today's meeting, the head of the Central Election Commission of Russia, Ella Pamfilova, announced the official voting results: Vladimir Putin received 87.28 percent of the votes, Nikolai Kharitonov — 4.31 percent, Vladislav Davankov — 3.85 percent, and Leonid Slutsky — 3, 20 percent. At the same time, the turnout reached 77.44 percent, which was a record in the modern history of the country.
