According to Kanaani, a step more important than the adoption of this resolution is «effective measures for its implementation and a complete and stable cessation of attacks» by Israel on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, the complete lifting of the blockade of Gaza, the opening corridors for the delivery of humanitarian aid and international funding for infrastructure reconstruction in Gaza.
An official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry called Israel's reaction to the adoption of the resolution «anger at an irreparable defeat… in the political and international arena» and expressed hope that the UN Security Council will call Israel to account for the crimes committed against the Palestinian people over the past six months.
