MOSCOW, March 21 Serbian director Emir Kusturica announced that in September he will begin preparing for the filming of the film “Crime without Punishment” based on the novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky.
Previously, Kusturica announced that he would make a film based on Dostoevsky’s novel “Crime and Punishment,” and this would be his first film in Russian.
«I think that in April I will finish the script. Then in September we will begin preparations. Filming will take place in winter and summer, until the fall,» the director told reporters on Thursday before a friendly match between the Russian and Serbian national football teams.
Kusturica clarified that he grew up on the works of Russian classics: Dostoevsky, Pushkin, Gogol, Bunin. His mother taught him Russian literature.
At the match, Kusturica will support the Serbian national team. “I think it will be good football. We are very close and (both teams — ed.) are good in their own way: both Russians and Serbs,” he said.
