
VELIKY NOVGOROD, March 26 The Valdai district court restricted the freedom for eight months to a 63-year-old resident who, while drunk, threatened to blow up the village of Demyansk, angry at the constant blackout, reports press service of the department.
It is specified that on the evening of December 2 and the morning of December 3, 2023, a drunk man, while in the village of Podgorye, Demyansky district, Novgorod region, from hooligan motives, called the number “112” and said that he was preparing to blow up the village of Demyansk. After which the police went to his home twice and determined that the calls were false. The defendant admitted guilt.
«»Being intoxicated at home, feeling dissatisfied with his life, as well as irritated by the constant blackouts, wanting to attract attention… he called 112 and said that he would blow up the whole «Demyansk, although he did not intend to blow up anyone. The next day in the morning, out of anger that the electricity was cut off again, he called again and expressed a false intention to blow up all the residents,» the report says.
The court sentenced the man to a sentence of restriction of freedom for 8 months. The verdict has not entered into legal force.
