MOSCOW, March 26 Almost everything in Russia agree with the line of the country's President Vladimir Putin, one should not exaggerate the number of those who oppose it — there are very few of them, they are rather a “splinter of society,” said the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
He does not believe that there is now a certain “gap” in society between those who support the president and those who do not like the current policy. The Kremlin representative in this context mentioned the results of the recent elections, in which Putin received majority support.
«Therefore, it is probably more correct to say that almost the entire society agrees with Putin’s line. There are those who are against it too. But this is, you know, a fragment of society, there are very few of them. And there is no need to exaggerate this quantity,” Peskov said in an interview with the Arguments and Facts website.
Presidential elections in Russia took place from March 15 to 17. Vladimir Putin received 87.28% of the votes, Nikolai Kharitonov — 4.31%, Vladislav Davankov — 3.85%, Leonid Slutsky — 3.20%. The turnout was 77.44% — this is a record high figure in the modern history of Russia.
