RBC: Crocus City Hall, which burned down after the terrorist attack, is pledged to the bank
The RBC publication, with reference to data from the Unified State Register of Real Estate (USRN), reports that the Crocus City Hall concert venue , where the terrorist attack took place on March 22, is pledged to the bank.
It is noted that the building with an area of over 38 thousand square meters belongs to the Crocus Group structure of businessman Araz Agalarov, and it is pledged under a mortgage agreement dated November last year. The publication indicated that the encumbrance on the property is valid until the end of December 2032. According to RBC, the property was pledged to the bank as a result of an assignment in December 2022.
As noted in the publication, in March 2023 it became known about a change of lender and refinancing of the company’s loans in the amount of approximately 100 billion rubles . RBC's interlocutors claim that due to damage as a result of the terrorist attack, the liquidation value of the collateral has decreased, and in addition, the bank can transfer the loan to a lower quality category by creating reserves.
