
MOSCOW, March 26 Presidential Press Secretary Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov called Vladimir Putin’s results in the last presidential elections unprecedented: 87% of votes in favor after 24 years in power and with such a high turnout — this is a “world phenomenon.”
«The numbers with which Putin won are unprecedented. Still, 87% of the votes for after 24 years in power is a global phenomenon, with such a high turnout. And in terms of purity, these elections are also absolutely unprecedented, no serious complaints about observers did not have it,” Peskov said in an interview with the Arguments and Facts website.
Presidential elections in Russia took place from March 15 to 17. Vladimir Putin received 87.28% of the votes, Nikolai Kharitonov — 4.31%, Vladislav Davankov — 3.85%, Leonid Slutsky — 3.20%. The turnout was 77.44% — this is a record high figure in the modern history of Russia.
