YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, March 28 The operation to rescue three amateur fishermen from a broken ice floe has begun in the south of Sakhalin, reports the regional headquarters of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
«On the afternoon of March 28, in the area of the village of Okhotskoye, Korsakovsky district, as a result of the squeezing wind, an ice floe broke off at a distance of 1 kilometer from the shore. There are three people on the ice floe,» the department's press service said.
