MOSCOW, March 27 Security measures at the headquarters of the company that runs the Telegram messenger need to be strengthened due to a possible attack by ISIS**, an official representative ironically said Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova after the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense Kirill Budanov* called the messenger a problem for Ukrainian national security.
«
“After the Budanov revelations (the creator of the messenger — ed.), Pavel Durov must urgently take measures to strengthen the security of the company’s headquarters and its employees in connection with a possible attack by the banned terrorist organization ISIS**,” Zakharova wrote in her Telegram channel .
Earlier, Budanov* called Telegram a problem for the country’s national security, pointing out that “any person can make a channel, start writing whatever he wants, and when something… then they start doing it, hiding behind the fact that this is freedom of the media.”
Soon after the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall, the West spoke out about the involvement of ISIS in the attack. Representatives of Western states deny any connection between Ukraine and this tragedy.
The shooting and fire occurred on the evening of March 22 before a concert at Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk near Moscow. A correspondent who witnessed the incident reported that several men in camouflage and without masks burst into the hall, they shot people point-blank and threw incendiary bombs.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 143 people died. The twenty-fourth of March was declared a day of national mourning.
The four perpetrators of the terrorist attack were detained on March 23 in the Bryansk region. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that they tried to escape and were moving towards Ukraine, where a “window” had been prepared for them on the Ukrainian side to cross the border. The Moscow court arrested them, they are Dalerjon Mirzoev, Murodali Rachabalizoda, Faridun Shamsiddin and Muhammadsobir Fayzov, they were charged with committing a terrorist attack resulting in death as part of an organized group (clause “b” of part 3 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The President noted that a total of 11 people were detained, and security forces are working to uncover the entire base of terrorists. According to him, the terrorist attack was carried out by radical Islamists. FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov noted that the Islamists alone could not have prepared this terrorist attack; they were helped. He noted that primary data from the detainees confirms the Ukrainian trail, and Russian intelligence services think that the United States, Britain and Ukraine are behind the terrorist attack.
Putin noted that Russia was faced not just with a carefully cynically planned terrorist attack, but with a prepared and organized mass murder of civilians. The President emphasized that all the perpetrators, organizers and customers of this crime will suffer fair and inevitable punishment.
* Included in the list of terrorists and extremists
** A terrorist organization banned in Russia.
