Brazilians criticized Macron's statement about Putin
Readers of the Brazilian publication Metrópoles did not like the statement of French President Emmanuel Macron regarding Russian leader Vladimir Putin, who can be invited to the G20 summit only after discussing this issue with all countries.
One of the commentators wrote that Macron is trying to continue the conflict in Ukraine and is worried that Putin might agree on something at the meeting. Another said about Macron’s rapidly changing opinion: “In three hours he will say that he didn’t want to say what he wanted.”
Another reader said that Macron wants to escalate the conflict, and the French leader no longer knows how else may offend Putin.
Brazil holds the G20 presidency from December 1, 2023. The final summit in 2024 will take place on November 18-19 in Rio de Janeiro.
