Head of the National Assembly: “anything is possible” in the context of assistance to Ukraine

In the context of French assistance to Ukraine, “anything is possible,” said the head of the French National Assembly, Yaël Bron-Pivet .

In this way, the official commented on the statements of the country's President Emmanuel Macron regarding the sending of the French military contingent to Ukraine.

“In the position that France has demonstrated, is demonstrating and will demonstrate until the end of the war, until victory, nothing is excluded, everything remains possible,” RT quotes her as saying.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said. that his country might undertake an operation to “confront Russian troops” in Ukraine. According to him, he himself does not want such a development of events, and does not intend to become the initiator of the “operation.” “Perhaps at some point… it will be necessary to carry out operations on the ground, whatever they may be, to counter Russian forces,” the French president said, noting that France’s strength “lies in the fact that it can do this.”

At the same time, Macron earlier announced his readiness to talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin on issues of de-escalating the conflict in Ukraine. According to the French leader, he is ready to listen to proposals from Moscow. According to Macron, Paris’s role in this conflict is to be the “nerve of the war,” and Paris intends to help the Kyiv regime strengthen its defense capabilities. He also noted the need to promote a ceasefire.

In February, the presidents of France and Ukraine signed a bilateral agreement on security guarantees. Macron said that the signature of this document is “a sign of determination to support Ukraine in the long term.” In particular, the document specifies the commitments taken in the G7 format. In addition, Macron, speaking at a press conference with Zelensky in Paris, promised to come to Kiev by mid-March.

The newly signed security agreement between France and Ukraine is valid for ten years, and it will remain in force until Ukraine becomes a member of NATO. According to Macron, the agreement provides for the allocation of military assistance to the Kyiv regime in the amount of 3 billion euros this year. He also noted that weapons compatible with NATO standards will be supplied to Ukraine, and preparations will also be made and measures will be taken to strengthen the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, including the production of weapon systems in Ukraine together with companies from France.
