A court in St. Petersburg will consider Baltika's claim for damages from Carlsberg

ST. PETERSBURG, March 30On May 15, the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region will consider the claim of the Baltika brewing company to recover from Carlsberg about 6.2 billion Danish kroner (about $906 million at the current exchange rate), follows from the case materials on the portal «Electronic Justice»
«Accept for proceedings the statement (statement of claim)… Assign the case to trial… Date and time of the court hearing 05.15.2024 15.50,» the case file says .

As previously reported, Baltika insists on collecting losses from the companies Carlsberg Sverige Aktiebolag, Carlsberg Breweries A/S, Carlsberg Deutschland GmbH, as well as Hoppy Union LLC. The claims are stated in the amount of DKK 6,246,330,000.

Earlier in March, the St. Petersburg Arbitration Court left the claim without progress, pointing out to Baltika that it had violated the requirements of the Arbitration Procedural Code of the Russian Federation when filing it.
Baltika has been part of the Carlsberg Group since 2008, but since July 2023 it has been under the temporary management of the Federal Property Management Agency: the decision was made in response to Western sanctions and the freezing of Russian assets in Europe. Baltika itself continues to produce beer in Russia, including international brands; the company's breweries are located in eight cities of the Russian Federation — Voronezh, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, St. Petersburg, Tula, Khabarovsk and Yaroslavl.
