The Abarth 600e electric crossover will debut this coming summer, and yesterday the Stellantis press service published several new ones on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Abarth brand photos of the crossover.
Austrian-Italian racer and entrepreneur Carlo Abarth founded his automobile company on March 31, 1949, which means this year the Abarth brand, now owned by the Stellantis corporation, celebrates its 75th anniversary. The main gift for fans for this anniversary will be the world premiere of the second electric Abarth model — the 600e subcompact crossover, based on the Fiat model of the same name.
The world premiere of the Abarth 600e is expected in June, the exact date has not yet been announced. The debut and richly equipped version of the Abarth 600e will be called Scorpionissima, it will be produced in an edition of 1,949 copies in honor of the year the Abarth brand was founded.
Let us remind you that the first production electric model of Abarth was the hot hatch Abarth 500e, which debuted in 2022. Abarth will also have a third electric model, but there is no official information about it yet, but the brand will have more gasoline new products with a scorpion on the emblem.
From the original Fiat 600e, which made its world premiere last summer, the Abarth crossover differs in a more aggressive design of the bumpers with wide grilled sections, large 20-inch wheels and a developed spoiler on the tailgate.
The Abarth 600e's cabin retains the original Fiat's architecture, but features much richer leather and Alcantara trim with contrast stitching and sports front seats with four different foam densities — they provide a good balance of comfort and lateral support. In addition, the Abarth 600e has special graphics for the instrument screen (7 inches) and multimedia screen (10.25 inches).
The Abarth 600e is based on the Perfo-eCMP platform — a special, sporty version of the CMP (Common Modular Platform) platform, well known from other modern Stellantis subcompact models. The Abarth 600e will have exciting handling, powerful disc brakes and a limited-slip differential — it will allow you to reliably control the traction generated by a powerful electric motor mounted on the front axle. Another unique feature of the Abarth 600e is tires with polyurethane inserts, like those on Formula E cars, such tires have excellent grip combined with low noise levels.
The electric motor in the Abarth 600e will produce 240 hp. With. is the most powerful production Abarth in history. Acceleration to 100 km/h will take about 6 seconds. The battery capacity is most likely the same as that of the Fiat 600e, that is, 54 kWh, which means that the range on one charge will not be very large — about 320 km on the WLTP cycle. Electric cars, by their nature, do not generate bright sounds, so a special synthetic soundtrack has been written for the Abarth 600e, as well as for the Abarth 500e, with which it will notify the outside world of its approach.
How much will the Abarth 600e cost until now? unknown, but it definitely won't be cheap. However, Abarth does not yet plan to go beyond the niche brand for connoisseurs; its goal is not to sell many cars, but to make a tangible profit from each one.
