DONETSK, April 2 A Ukrainian drone was shot down by air defense forces over the village of Golmovsky in the DPR, the mayor said on Tuesday Gorlovki Ivan Prikhodko in his Telegram channel.
“Over the village of Golmovsky (Nikitovsky district of Gorlovka), air defense forces shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle of Ukrainian armed gangs,” Prikhodko wrote.
At the same time, the DPR representative office in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine reported that on Tuesday at 6.20 and 12.00 Ukrainian forces fired at the Kiev and Petrovsky districts of Donetsk, seven 155 mm caliber shells were fired.
The urban-type settlement of Golmovsky is located 16 kilometers northeast of Gorlovka, one of the largest populated areas of the DPR.
Kyiv district is located in the northern part of Donetsk, Petrovsky is on the western outskirts of Donetsk, this is the most distant part of the city from the center.
155 mm artillery is used by NATO countries. The United States supplied Ukraine with long-range howitzers M777 of 155 mm caliber, Ukrainian troops are actively using them to shell the cities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. Also, the Ukrainian troops were supplied with German PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery mounts, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns using shells of this caliber.
