YEKATERINBURG, April 1 The prosecutor's office began an investigation after an emergency at the Severopeschanskaya mine in the Sverdlovsk region, where a worker may be under the rubble, rescue operations are underway, the department's press service reports.
According to the prosecutor's office, on Monday at about 16.43, a rock collapse occurred at the Severopeschanskaya mine near Krasnoturinsk during scheduled work.
“»As a result of the collapse, an employee of the enterprise may be under the rubble. Rescue operations are currently underway. Several employees have been hospitalized for examination and medical care,» the message says.
It is noted that the department has begun checking compliance with safety during mining operations and labor protection legislation.
Earlier, the head of the press service of the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Valery Gorelykh, reported that three workers were brought to the surface after an explosion at a mine in Sverdlovsk Krasnoturinsk, and they were looking for another miner. One of the workers did not require hospitalization, the other two were taken to the district hospital, a police representative specified.
