MOSCOW, April 1. A guard was assigned to a landfill in the Welsh city of Newport because of an accidentally discarded disk containing eight thousand bitcoins, writes the Daily Mail.
According to the publication, investor James Hallwells lost such a large sum ten years ago when his girlfriend decided to do some cleaning and threw out the only storage medium with data for accessing the Bitcoin wallet.
As of now, the assets on the missing disk are estimated at approximately one and a half billion pounds sterling (almost two billion US dollars).
Now the man is trying to return the media with thousands of bitcoins. It is noted that to do this he must sort through tons of garbage, but the local administration placed guards at the landfill to prevent him from doing this.
