Halyk Bank, the largest bank in Kazakhstan, has suspended servicing Mir cards since February 27
Kazakhstan's largest Halyk Bank («People's Bank») has stopped servicing cards of the Russian payment system «Mir» since the end of February, said an employee of the financial organization's call center.
According to him, last modified on February 27th. Mir cards are no longer serviced, the employee noted. This, as he said, applies to both ATMs and POS terminals. The reasons for the current restrictions were not specified.
At the end of February it was reported that the Kazakh bank Freedom Finance stopped operations with cards of the Mir payment system.
The US Department of the Treasury had previously imposed official sanctions against the operator of the Russian payment system «Mir» — National Payment Card System (NSCP).
