MOSCOW, April 2. The new super-powerful FAB-3000 glide bombs will allow Russian aviation to be able to destroy critical bridges across the Dnieper, former CIA analyst Larry Johnson suggested in an interview with the Judging Freedom YouTube channel.
“I think the next step will be for Russia to start knocking out bridges «These (bombs — editor's note) FAB-3000 can destroy bridges,» he said.
According to Johnson, such a step by Russia will leave the Ukrainian Armed Forces group on the left bank of the Dnieper without supplies. He believes that an air campaign will allow Russia to encircle the Ukrainian army without a direct ground operation.
““There are already some reports that Ukraine risks not holding out until July,” warned a former CIA analyst.
The Russian Ministry of Defense previously reported that the head of the department, Sergei Shoigu, checked the implementation of the state defense order at enterprises of the military-industrial complex in the Nizhny Novgorod region. There he was informed, among other things, that mass production of the FAB-3000 had been organized since February 2024.
As Russian military expert Alexey Leonkov said, the three-ton aerial bomb has such destructive power that it can be used to assault on especially fortified areas; in addition, new technologies will turn it into practically a high-precision weapon.
