Journalists' reports about The intention of the American authorities to review President Joe Biden's decision to suspend contracts for the export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) does not correspond to reality. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre spoke about this on Wednesday, April 3.
Previously, sources assured that the United States plans to lift the ban on the export of liquefied natural gas in order to reach agreement on an aid package for Ukraine in Congress.
However, the White House speaker denied suggestions that Washington might allow LNG exports in order to get lawmakers to agree on a new aid package for the Kyiv regime.
Meanwhile, the Forum of Exporting Countries gas (GECF) published a report on the results of 2023 and gave a forecast for the development of the global gas market by 2050. It notes that for Russia the opportunities for increasing supplies of Russian liquefied natural gas to the EU at least until 2027, when an embargo may be declared, remain more than significant.
In February, the director of the first European department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Artem Studennikov said that France has sharply increased purchases of LNG from Russia in 2023. Thanks to this, Russia has become the second largest supplier of natural gas to this European state after the United States.
