The Sovetsky District Court of Makhachkala sent to pre-trial detention three defendants in terrorism cases, two citizens of Tajikistan and one Russian born in Tajikistan. This was reported on the court's website.
All of them are accused of participating in a terrorist organization (Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code), and two of them are also accused of possessing weapons (Part 4 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code). Yesterday, two more Tajik citizens living in Kaspiysk were arrested on similar charges.
The Youth of Dagestan newspaper and the Mash telegram channel specify that all of them were detained in Makhachkala and Kaspiysk during the counter-terrorism operation on March 31.
In court, only the years of birth of the defendants were given: today three men were arrested, born in 1994, 1997 and 1998, and yesterday two, born in 2000 and 2003.
The FSB claimed that the detainees were preparing a terrorist attack in Kaspiysk and were connected with the perpetrators of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall. The intelligence service mentioned only “four foreign citizens”; there was no fifth Russian citizen in the release.
The state channel “Zvezda” published a video of one of the detainees with a blurred face. He said: “Here they were planning a terrorist attack on the embankment in Kaspisk or in Victory Park <…>, during the arrest, two Kalashnikovs and 460 bullets were found in the apartment, I brought weapons to them, to these guys who attacked Crocus City Hall.” ; in the city of Moscow. I brought them weapons from Makhachkala to Mytishchi.”
