The other day, the Japanese company distributed the first teaser of the new generation 4Runner SUV, which became a reason for us to imagine what the car will look like.< /p>
The Toyota 4Runner midsize SUV has been in production since 1984. It was originally built on the Hilux pickup platform, as hinted at by the model's second name, used in the domestic Japanese market — Hilux Surf. The current generation is already the fifth in a row, its premiere took place back in 2009. Since then, the SUV has undergone several updates, the most notable of which occurred in 2013. The long-lived one will soon be replaced by a new generation, and we already have two images of the new product at our disposal: just a few hours ago another teaser was published.

True, not much is visible on them yet: these teasers show fragments of the rear part, where you can see the rear bumper trim, parts of the trunk lid and lights, as well as the rear window, which can be lowered electrically (as on previous generations of the SUV) . In addition, a large model designation will be located at the bottom of the trunk lid. According to preliminary information, the front end will have much in common with the new Tacoma pickup, which was first demonstrated last spring. As for the side panels, we depicted the SUV with one of the main characteristic design elements of all generations of 4Runner — a wide pillar behind the rear doors, painted in body color.

It is expected that the new generation frame SUV will be built on the modular TNGA-F platform, which the Land Cruiser, Tacoma and Sequoia of the latest generations have already received. Under the hood there may be a 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbo engine, the output of which will be 282 hp. and 429 Nm of torque.
