MOSCOW, April 5 On the phone One of those accused of committing a terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall was found with photographs of people in camouflage with the flag of Ukraine, the Investigative Committee reported on the Telegram channel.
«On the terrorist's phone, photographs of people in camouflage with the Ukrainian flag were found against the backdrop of destroyed houses and Ukrainian postage stamp with an obscene gesture. The specified data may indicate a connection between the terrorist act committed and the conduct of a special military operation,» the publication says.
The investigation established that the attackers chose the Crocus concert hall for the terrorist attack instructions from the curator who directed their actions.
“On the morning of February 24, 2024, that is, on the anniversary of the start of the SVO, one of the accomplices, at the direction of the curator, found on Internet resources and sent him screenshots of images of the entrances to the Crocus City Hall building and the access roads to it,” the release states.
Investigators emphasized that the accused confirmed all this in his testimony.
The Investigative Committee is checking for involvement of representatives of the Ukrainian special services and Islamist terrorist organizations in organizing and financing the terrorist attack.
Terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall Shooting and fire at the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Krasnogorsk occurred on the evening of March 22. Several men burst into the building, they shot people point-blank and threw incendiary bombs.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 144 people died in the attack.
Ten defendants were arrested in the case, including four citizens Tajikistan, who, according to the investigation, were the direct perpetrators of the terrorist attack. In addition, on April 1, four foreigners were detained in Dagestan, who, as the FSB clarified, participated in financing and providing weapons to the criminals who attacked Crocus City Hall.
On Thursday, security forces detained three more immigrants from Central Asia, suspected of involvement in the terrorist attack.
FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov said last week that the initial testimony of the detainees confirms the Ukrainian trail. According to the Investigative Committee, after the attack the terrorists headed to Kyiv to receive a reward there. Russian intelligence services believe that the United States and Great Britain are also behind the attack.
